The Master, and both Wardens with their wives accompanied by Mrs Anne Vials attended the annual Federation of
School Lodges meeting at Preston in September. The special guest at the meeting this year was Sir David
Wootton the Assistant Grand Master.
As is our custom when attending the Federation meetings, we stayed for a number of days in the vicinity of
Preston, so additionally made visits to Blackpool and Skipton. Needless to say it was very wet in Blackpool but that
didn’t deter our party from scaling the Tower for the magnificent views, and then enjoying music from the Wurlitzer
in the Ballroom – some even taking to the ‘floor’ for a waltz or two. Needless to say we also enjoyed a Harry
Ramsden’s Fish & Chip dinner!
Skipton was also on our agenda, with a very pleasant day spent there, visiting the Castle and scenic town.
The 2020 Federation meeting will be held at Bristol in October.
